A native Washingtonian who grew up in Chillum, Maryland, Mike attended Archbishop Carroll High School before graduating from the University of Maryland in 1976. He began his mortgage career in 1978 with Colonial Mortgage of DC and has since served in leadership roles at Perpetual Bank, Columbia First Bank, American Home Funding, Presidential Bank, and Fitzgerald Financial.
Mike joined Severn Bank in 2019, continuing his long‑standing commitment to serving borrowers across the region. He has supervised large, multi‑functional branches throughout Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties, overseeing teams of loan officers, processors, closers, post‑closing staff, and underwriters. A first‑time homebuyer specialist with expertise in VA, FHA, conventional financing, Maryland Bond programs, and new construction lending, Mike is known for his ability to make complex transactions feel simple and manageable.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike leads a full and interesting life. Married with two children, he enjoys gardening, cooking, and cheering on his musician son, who performs in two bands. And for a fun twist on his career journey, Mike once planned, built, and operated a candy store in St. Charles Towne Center Mall during the 1990s—a testament to his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
