Visa Debit Cards
Don’t worry about being caught off guard when it comes to carrying cash, you can use your Visa debit card instead. You can use your Visa debit card as payment at any retailer where Visa is accepted. There are certain countries and states where debit card transactions may be blocked to help protect your account from fraud. If you’re traveling, be sure to check our list before you leave and be prepared with alternative payment options if you’re traveling to one of the countries on the current blocked list.

And as part of the Visa network, you’ll get Zero Liability protection in the case of a lost or stolen card. You also have the option to get a text or email when you pay with your Visa card; alerts can be set for amount thresholds, online orders, international transactions, and more. We believe that banking should be personal. So, we offer optional images to personalize your debit card1. Available images include puppies, a sunset, an American flag, or camouflage. Simply stop by your nearest branch to apply for a debit card and request one of the image offerings. Once approved, thanks to our convenient instant issue, you’ll be able to leave with your new card in hand.
A digital wallet is an app on your mobile device that stores payment information for the credit or debit cards that you enroll and allows you to use your device to make purchases at participating merchants. Your card number is not stored on the device, each transaction is authorized with a one-time, unique security code. Digital wallets provide a convenient way to store all your cards in one place, potentially eliminate the need to carry a wallet, and often tend to produce quicker transactions than paying with cash or cards.
Shore United Bank Personal, Business, and HSA debit cards are all eligible for use with Apple, Google, and Samsung’s digital wallets. Online and mobile banking are not required to add your Shore United Bank debit card to your digital wallet.
To add your Shore United Bank debit card to your digital wallet, simply:
Go to your digital wallet app or download your digital wallet of choice - Apple Pay (requires an Apple device), Google Pay, or Samsung Pay (requires a Samsung device).
Add your Shore United Bank debit card.
Follow the prompts within the wallet to complete your setup.
If you’ve selected one of the personalized images - puppies, sunset, American flag, camouflage, etc. - the card image on your digital wallet will look different. This doesn’t mean that your card was not enrolled properly, only our standard images will display within the wallet.

In our ongoing efforts to keep your accounts secure, your debit card activity is monitored 24/7 by our Fraud Center. If potential fraud is detected, our Fraud Center will temporarily freeze your card. The card will remain temporarily frozen while we contact you to confirm or deny fraud.
Here's how it works:
When suspicious activity is identified, you will receive an immediate text notification.
If we don't receive a response from the text message within a certain time frame, you will receive an email (if we have your email address on file).
If we don't receive a response from the text or email, you will receive an automated phone call to confirm or deny fraud.
Please note that our messages will NEVER ask for your PIN or account number. Responding to the text or automated call is the fastest way to confirm fraud but you always have the option to speak with a Fraud Center or branch representative.
With your ATM card, you can visit any of our convenient ATM locations to withdraw cash directly from your account. You can avoid ATM fees by using a Shore United Bank-owned ATM or one of the 55,000 ATMs in the Allpoint Network. These cards also allow you to view your balance, make a payment to a Shore United Bank loan, make a deposit2, or transfer funds.
Because outside retailers do not accept ATM cards as a method for payment, ATM cards offer increased security in the event of card misplacement or theft. Your 4-digit PIN also provides an additional layer of security, that’s why it is important to not maintain your PIN with or near your card.

What do I do if my ATM or debit card is stolen?
To report a lost or stolen ATM or Visa Debit Card, please call 888-758-4900 or 888-297-3416 to immediately deactivate your card.
Do you charge ATM fees?
You will not be charged ATM fees if you use a Shore United Bank ATM or one of the 55,000 in the Allpoint Network. Download the Allpoint App to find ATMs near you that are part of this nationwide network.
Are there certain places my debit card won’t work?
Your Visa debit card will work at any retailer where Visa is accepted as a form of payment, barring the few countries, locations, or merchants where we’ve restricted use due to fraud prevention.
What is Visa’s Zero Liability Protection?
Visa’s Zero Liability Policy ensures that you won’t be held responsible for unauthorized charges made by your account. Please note that this does not apply to ATM transactions, PIN transactions not processed by Visa, or certain commercial card transactions. It’s subject to timeliness of notification by cardholder of unauthorized use, so report suspicious charges to Shore United Bank as soon as possible by calling 888-758-4900 or 888-297-3416.
If you need to securely send funds to another person quickly, a wire transfer3 may be a good option. Wire transfers allow you to move money electronically from one person to another, domestically or internationally, directly from your account to their account. To initiate a wire transfer from your Shore United Bank account, contact your local branch.

Setting up the InTouch Telephone service is quick and easy. Simply call toll-free 888-758-4900 or one of our local numbers: 410-758-4900 (Maryland) and 302-284-1600 (Delaware). All you need is your account number, the last four digits of your social security or tax I.D. number, and your four-digit PIN. First time users will need their full social security or tax I.D. number and will select the four-digit PIN for recurrent uses. Personal Overdraft Services
Having insufficient funds in your account can put you at risk for bounced checks and declined transactions, which lead to embarrassing conversations and unwanted fees. But, life happens – so, we offer several options to ensure you’re covered in the event you overdraw your checking account.
Our basic overdraft service is a discretionary offering in which we strive to pay your overdrawn items and charge our standard non-sufficient funds overdraft ($35) fee for each. Transactions covered by our basic overdraft service7 include:
Building upon our basic overdraft service, this option covers all of the transactions the previous plan covers in addition to ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card transactions. We will pay for overdrawn items based on eligibility and notification of interest in the program. For those with multiple accounts with us, you can authorize and set up an automatic transfer in the event of an overdraft of your checking account. This automated service allows you to rest easy knowing that you don’t have to worry about constantly checking your account balance. Overdraft Line of Credit
This service option allows you to apply for an unsecured overdraft line of credit tied to your checking account. In the event that your account is overdrawn, we will transfer funds from your credit line to your checking account, up to the credit limit for which you’ve been approved. Interest will be charged based on the amount borrowed. Apply for an overdraft line of credit at your nearest branch location.
While you may never need these services, they may come in handy in the event of a temporary shortfall.
