How long have you worked at Shore United Bank?

I've worked at the Bank for a year and nine months

What does a typical day look like for you?

As an Assistant Branch Manager it is my responsibility to oversee daily branch operations, cash management and ensure all policies and procedures are being followed. Along with operational duties, I am tasked with making sales calls to develop relationships with current and potential customers. I am always at the forefront with the team ready to service our customers and address their financial needs.

What interested you in Shore United Bank? How did you hear about us?

Shore United Bank had been steadily growing and expanding their market reach over the years. I was a member of the Mid-Atlantic Sales and Marketing Institute (MASMI) at Salisbury University. Shore United Bank's parent company, Shore Bancshares, Inc., was a sponsor of the program. This provided me with the opportunity to meet and network with executive officers from the Bank. Building those relationships greatly strengthened my interest in joining the company.

Why did you decide to join the Management Trainee Program?

The Management Trainee Program provided the opportunity to develop necessary skills for a successful commercial banking career while learning how to navigate the corporate environment. Coming out of college and into the workforce can be daunting, the Management Trainee Program made the transition intriguing and exciting.

How long were you in the program?

I was in the program for about 13 months.

What are some highlights from the program?

Rotating between various departments, working alongside bank executives, going on sales & prospecting calls, collecting customer service data for the management team, community events, and golf tournaments - just some of the memories I have from being involved in the program.

Would you recommend the Management Trainee Program to someone else?

100%! The Management Trainee Program provided a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn an immense amount about the commercial banking industry in just over a year. I would recommend this program to any recent college graduate interested in banking.

What do you enjoy most about working in the banking industry?

Banking and finance plays an important role in everyone's life. Working in this industry allows me to help people in many aspects above and beyond the products and services we provide. Banking is evolving everyday and it is quite exciting being a part of the changes.
